Editing

For our latest college project we were split into groups of 4 and we had to create and make a children’s drama the group I was with were Jordan, Damian, Kieran, and Adam, the children’s drama we created was about a mad professor who wanted to take over the world and rule the world and it’s up to 3 young school kids and to him and save the day when it came to the editing side of our children’s drama there was a lot of fuss what I mean by this is we had trouble putting the video footage of the drama on the computer everything kept freezing and the data kept saying the file data is corrupt final after all the trouble we went into A104 and everything started to go right the first thing I did when we started the editing process was I put all the scenes in order and deleted pointless scenes that we didn’t need the other thing we did was make 3 different files each for Adam Damian and Kieran to work on but in the end we all thought it would be easier to work on the same file the other thing I did with my drama was at the start of one of our scenes I put in a thing were the quality of the scene starts to fade I did this because in the story Jordan, in Invisible and your looking through her eyes what I mean is you see what she can see I thought the effect worked well but the others didn’t like it but we kept it anyway the other thing I did with the scene was there was a shot of the bell on the wall and I added a sound effect to the bell the sound I added was of a school bell going off I added that because it was in the script the other things I did were I helped Damian find the music for the running scenes the music was really stupid but it worked well with our children’s drama the music sounded like kids party music with the editing as a whole Damian, and I did the most and Kieran, did the least because Kieran, did the least this caused a lot of arguments in the group and every time he said he would do something he didn’t  in the end what we did was we made a different file for Kieran, to work on and do some editing but on that file we made for him in finally did some work the other problem we had was people knocking our hard drive and making it freeze but that was only a small problem not a big one but all in all I had fun making the drama and editing the children’s drama but would not work with the same people again for the next project I would like to work with different people because I think that we did not work well as a group together I would only work with them again if they wanted help with group work or needed me to be in there film I would also help them if they needed any work done

Hunt me down Knife Crime

Hunt me down
Duration:
3 x 50 minutes
Format:
TV  series
Premise:
Nas, is a 38 year old drug dealer who was raised on the streets of Brooklyn, New, York. He also sells weapons to young kids but he wants to turn a new leaf he wants to get out of the drugs and weapons business. But because of his connections people are out to get him because he’s not that tuff and dangerous anymore. The main dealer out to get him is Frank, Gallagher, Frank, is a ruff looking homeless man with a lot of connections. He also knows a lot of dangerous people within the drugs and weapons business. Frank knows the one way to hurt Nas, is to hurt his family or even kill his family with the special Hip, Hop, knife.
Synopsis:
For the opening credits of my drama we see Nas, sitting on a chair smoking a blunt listening to some classic hip, hop, The camera then zooms out and we see Nas, walking down the street with a big black coat on with a red cap on thinking he’s got swag. Two minutes in Nas, sees something that he didn’t want to see he sees a kid getting stabbed with one of his own knifes. After seeing this Nas, feels guilty and wants give up the drugs and weapons game and make a fresh start. Maybe buy a new house or get a new dog Nas, has made millions in the drugs game and I mean millions. One person is not happy with him leaving and that person is Frank, Gallagher, The scene changes to Frank, beating up a random girl he saw on the street he beats her and steals her money and runs off in a big hard man fashion I’m a gangster then a car aka the land rover pulls up as he’s driving away he sees Nas, he pulls out a big aka 47 and start shooting at Nas, He runs and hides under a wooden table in the cafĂ© he is in Frank, hears a police car and drives away. Nas, also hears the police car and also drives away in his gangster land rover Nas, goes home to his wife and kids and gets his most special knife. The Nas, knife the Nas, knife is raps most special knife.
Production Style:
With the production of my drama I will have a lot of Hip, Hop, music featured on the show. For example Lil Wayne, Jay z, and even kanye west, I plan for my show to be very popular with young people and I hope that they don’t take it as serious as most shows. For cast I hope to get people like Denzel Washington, and for cameos I hope to get well known rappers, to be in the background or have a small impact on the show and I also would like to get extras put in the series because extras are very important. there will also be fast paced action moments in my knife crime action series.

Documentary

On a Knife Edge: Knife crime and young people
Documentary – Adam Merchant

Duration:
1 x 30 mins
Format:
One-off documentary
Premise:
A Documentary that will be looking at the high levels of knife crime in London, and will also be seeing victims of knife crime and talking to their families.
Contents:
You will see things like Graphic pictures of what harm a knife can actually do to you. We will be following closely the family of knife related crimes and we will also be interviewing some youths who at the time thought it would be cool to carry a knife round the streets with their mates.
Structure:
For the first scene in my documentary I will be interviewing the families who have ended up losing a loved one in the tragic crime. When I interview the families I plan to get as much footage of them as I can meaning that I will be asking loads of difficult and hard questions about their tragic loss. Also with the first scene I plan to have a voice over of one of the families who are talking while the camera is panning family photos of the victims past. But only plan to show happy photos. In the second scene for my documentary I will show the interviews of some young people who at first thought it was a good idea to carry a knife around. I plan to film this interview at a youth centre for troubled young people. What I mean by troubled young is children who have been abounded by their parents who didn’t want them. That’s what I mean for my third and final scene I will be showing some gruesome and violent pictures of victims of knife crime. The picture are not for people of a sensitive nature I will also be showing some video footage of people being stabbed. I will get this footage from camera from town and from mobiles in which teenagers have recorded off their phone. Because they thought it would be funny and cool and then after all that the credits will roll.
